Concert participants:

Iveta Apkalna is one of Europe’s most active and sought-after solo organists. A brilliant concert presence, perfect virtuosity and an impeccable sense of style come together in her playing. Iveta’s characteristic effervescent enthusiasm, very serious attitude to work, careful attention to detail and ability to create comprehensive interpretations allow her to majestically command her instrument, which tends to be called the pinnacle of creation among musical instruments.

Nordic Voices

Artistic creativity, versatility, technical precision – these are the primary ingredients of the perfect recipe for a performing arts ensemble. One other ingredient, that indescribable something that we tend to call audience appeal, makes the picture complete. These are precisely the elements that make up Nordic Voices, a six-voice a cappella group that has been making waves not only in Norway, but in places as far afield as South Africa, Taiwan, Bolivia and USA.

Örebro Chamber Choir, currently led by Fred Sjöberg, was founded 55 years ago. Fred Sjöberg took over the role of conductor in 1983 and thus soon celebrates 35 years as artistic leader. The choir has a proud history including participating in various competitions, television programs and tours as well as performing in several productions together with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.

RĪGA CATHEDRAL BOYS’ CHOIR was founded in 1950. In the family of Latvian choirs, the Rīga Cathedral Boys’ Choir is one of the most active in terms of concert performances. Its contribution has been recognized with the Grand Music Award, the highest award in Latvian music. The choir regularly performs at Latvia’s leading concert halls and churches and has appeared in many countries around the world: Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, the USA, Canada, Japan and elsewhere.

The Rīga Cathedral Boys’ Choir has 23 solo recordings in compact disk format.

The Jāzeps Mediņš School of Music Boys’ Choir was established in 1981 and is one of the leading boys’ choirs in the Baltic states, proved by its winning the highest awards at many international choir competitions.
