The Nordic - Baltic Choral Festival will take place from 25 to 28 June 2015, in Riga and different regions of Latvia.
Tickets are available for the concert ‘Salutation to the Sun’ dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Nordic - Baltic Choral Festivals and in memory of their founder - the famous Latvian conductor Imants Kokars. It will be held on the opening day of the Festival - June 25 in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia.
The closing concert of the Festival, which will also be the final event of the public diplomacy and culture programme of the Latvian Presidency, will take place on June 28, at 17:00 in Mežaparks Open-air Stage in Riga. The concert programme will consist of brilliant compositions that have been performed in the previous Nordic-Baltic Choral Festivals, as well as several new songs from all the countries taking part in the Festival. The united Nordic-Baltic choir will sing parts from the famous cantata by Carl Orff Carmina Burana, which will become the grandest performance of this composition in the world.
