In 2026, Jāzeps Mediņš Riga 1st Music School Boys’ Choir celebrates its 45th anniversary. The choir and artistic director Romāns Vanags invite audiences to the anniversary concert tour “Mēs varam līdzās būt” in November and December.
Special guests are Ance Krauze, Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Jānis Aišpurs, Kārlis Būmeisters and Uldis Marhilēvičs. Kārlis Būmeisters’ son now sings in the choir, bringing father and son together on stage. Local boys’ choirs will join the closing songs.
The programme combines audience favourites with new music by the guest musicians, including songs from the cycle “Karavīru dziesmas”.
